As a Cook at Arden Courts, you will play a crucial role in preparing appetizing and nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of senior residents. The position involves not only food preparation but also assisting the Culinary Services Coordinator in managing food service operations to ensure that every meal is safe, enjoyable, and healthful. The Cook is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable kitchen environment, prioritizing sanitation and food safety standards in alignment with state and local regulations. This role demands a combination of culinary skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of specialized dietary requirements common among elderly populations.
The Cook collaborates closely with other members of the culinary team and care staff to support the overall well-being of residents. This position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout shifts, highlighting the physical stamina and endurance necessary to succeed. Qualified candidates will possess a Food Service Sanitation certificate and have prior experience in food preparation. Experience working with elderly individuals, especially those with dementia, is preferred, fostering a compassionate approach to meal preparation that respects residents' health and comfort.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation
- Food Service Sanitation certificate according to State/Local requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Ability to speak English in an understandable manner
