The Cook position plays a vital role within our Culinary Services team. This role is responsible for preparing appetizing and nutritious meals tailored to the needs and preferences of our residents. Working closely with the Culinary Services Coordinator, the Cook assists with managing food service functions, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position demands dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment to enhance resident satisfaction and well-being. To qualify for this role, applicants are required to have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Basic reading, writing, and communication skills in English are essential for effective workplace interaction and compliance with safety protocols. Prior experience in food preparation is necessary, and familiarity with working with elderly individuals, especially those with dementia, is highly preferred to provide specialized care and attention.

Certification in Food Service Sanitation as required by state or local regulations is mandatory to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met consistently. The physical demands of the position require the ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods, in addition to safely lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds. This role requires stamina and strength in a dynamic work setting.
