Job Requirements
- Basic reading and writing skills
- knowledge of modified diets and patient serving line process
- ability to follow menus, verbal and written instructions
- ability to cook for large volumes of meals
- minimum two years hospital cooking experience
- obtain Food Handlers and Safety certification within 30 days of start
- obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of start
- commitment to hospital policies and Code of Conduct
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write
- basic knowledge of modified diets and patient serving line process
- must follow menus and verbal and written instructions
- able to cook for large volumes up to 425 meals a day
- minimum two years hospital cooking experience
- Food Handlers and Safety certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Job Duties
- Order food and maintain inventory levels for patient and staff meals
- prepare and portion food according to menu
- monitor quality and temperature of food
- maintain clean and orderly workstation
- maintain documentation as requested or required
- store food and equipment according to guidelines
- prepare special diets accurately
- assure quality and timelines of food service
- assure patient needs for nourishment are met
- document temperatures, patient meals and meal tickets
- adhere to hospital policies and procedures
- demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct
- perform other duties as requested or required
