Job Requirements
- Prep cook experience preferred
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
- Ability to lift and move food and kitchen supplies as needed
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to the University of Texas at Dallas
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar food preparation role
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation and cleaning
- Preferred experience with Halal Shack cuisine
Job Duties
- Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
- Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- Taste completed meals to ensure quality
- Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
- Store, label and date all food items according to policy
- Follow HACCP guidelines
- Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
- Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
- Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- Resolve customer concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned
