Job Description

The position open is an immediate hire for a food preparation and customer service role within Bon Appetit. This role involves preparing food and serving customers in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to food safety and sanitation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chef to plan daily production schedules, prepare menu items according to standardized recipes and portion controls, and ensure quality and safety standards are maintained throughout the food service process. This includes proper storage, labeling, and handling of food items following HACCP guidelines. Additional responsibilities include operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, maintaining production logs, and delivering excellent customer service by efficiently taking orders and addressing customer concerns. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation for this role ranges from the starting hourly rate to the maximum hourly rate specified, with an internal employee referral bonus available. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in food preparation or customer service preferred
Ability to adhere to federal, state and local health and safety regulations
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to handle fast-paced work environments
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous food preparation or customer service experience preferred
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Basic math skills for portion control and inventory tracking

Job Duties

Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
Taste completed meals to ensure quality
Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
Store, label and date all food items according to policy
Follow HACCP guidelines
Complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
Take orders from customer and prepare items requiring short preparation time
Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
Resolve customer concerns
Perform other duties as assigned
