As a Prep Cook at Morrison Healthcare in Palm Bay Hospital, you will play a critical role in preparing and serving high-quality food in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position involves following detailed production schedules to prepare meals according to established recipes and standards. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety using HACCP guidelines, completing necessary documentation, and ensuring that all food items are properly stored, labeled, and dated. Job Requirements

  • Previous food prep or cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to comply with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
  • Ability to complete required documentation and logs accurately
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food preparation
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Completion of Florida Level 2 background screening if required

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • Prepare menu items following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete daily production worksheets and waste logs
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment per department procedures
  • Store, label, and date food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to maintain food safety
  • Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers efficiently and courteously
  • Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, temperatures, and portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
