Job Description
Old Chicago Pizza is a well-established full-service restaurant known for its commitment to crafting top-quality beer, food, and memorable dining experiences. Founded in 1976, this casual dining restaurant has grown to over 100 locations, each dedicated to delivering fresh, made-from-scratch pizzas, taproom fare, and pouring an impressive selection of local and international craft beers. The company prides itself on fostering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere where team members are considered the most important ingredient to their continued success. The brand is deeply rooted in the craft beer culture, seeing it not just as a trend, but as a lifestyle that enhances the dining experience.
Currently, Old Chicago is actively hiring line cooks, prep cooks, and pizza cooks to join their dynamic kitchen team. These culinary roles play a vital part in creating all menu dishes, ensuring each plate served meets the company’s high standards. The positions offer part-time or full-time hours with a highly competitive pay rate, reflecting the importance the company places on skilled kitchen talent. Team members benefit from a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance options, as well as voluntary additional benefits. The company values work-life balance, offering flexible scheduling to accommodate school, family, and other life commitments. There are also advancement opportunities for those looking to grow their culinary careers within the company, plus team member discounts that add extra value to working at Old Chicago.
The culinary team is responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of all food items by strictly adhering to recipe procedures and the company’s safety and sanitation policies. From using various kitchen equipment like stoves, mixers, ovens, and pizza ovens, to preparing dishes with different cooking techniques, cooks at Old Chicago need to be versatile and detail-oriented. Effective communication with managers and fellow team members is crucial to ensuring smooth operations and excellent guest service.
This role is perfect for both experienced kitchen professionals and those new to the culinary field who are eager to develop their skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment. Previous culinary or chef experience is preferred but not required, and a passion for quality food and beer culture is essential. The company requires all cooks to be at least 18 years old to safely operate kitchen equipment. Those who join Old Chicago Pizza can look forward to a rewarding career path in a company that values tradition, quality, and the personal growth of its employees. Old Chicago is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.

The company offers a welcoming workplace where your skills will be appreciated and your career ambitions supported. From preparing fresh ingredients to serving up great times, your role as a cook will contribute to the ongoing success of a beloved American restaurant brand.
