The role of Cook at Aramark is a full-time position with shifts from Friday to Sunday, 8 AM to 4 PM. This position is perfect for individuals who love to cook and are passionate about food, providing an opportunity to bring recipes to life while expressing creativity. As a Cook, you will be immersed in a vibrant kitchen environment equipped with fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment. The role goes beyond basic food preparation by encouraging experimentation with different cuisines, flavors, and cooking styles. You will participate in food production following standardized recipes and safety procedures designed to protect your health and ensure quality. The position requires setting up a workstation with necessary ingredients and tools, preparing and measuring ingredients, and safely handling utensils and kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
In this role, your cooking techniques may include baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and other methods applied to various food items including meats and vegetables. You will also be responsible for garnishing and portioning food according to established guidelines and adhering strictly to food storage and sanitation protocols. Maintaining a clean and sanitized work area is critical, as is providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards guests, customers, colleagues, and clients. Safety compliance, including following Aramark’s food safety and sanitation procedures, is paramount to the role. You will also be entrusted with securing company assets and maintaining a safe working environment.

Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Commitment to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensures security of company assets
