Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by a reputable organization that prioritizes providing nutritious meals and exceptional food service to its community. The establishment values quality, safety, and hygiene in meal preparation, ensuring that all food served meets high standards and complies with health regulations. This is a part-time position that requires availability on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, totaling approximately 20 hours a week. It is an ideal role for individuals who have a passion for cooking and serving healthy meals in a structured environment while adhering to strict safety and sanitation guidelines.

The position entails comprehensive responsibilities in kitchen operations including planning, preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of nutritious meals and snacks. The role demands attention to detail in presenting meals attractively and ensuring that all food preparation and service meet established guidelines and schedules. The employee will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment by properly cleaning kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances after use and keeping an accurate inventory of kitchen supplies. This organization places strong emphasis on food safety and hygiene practices, requiring adherence to health standards and proper personal cleanliness among kitchen personnel.

This role also involves significant interaction with serving food to clients, including preparing plates for infants and those who require additional assistance. In addition, there is an expectation to plan menus thoughtfully and purchase the necessary food and supplies that allow for the preparation of balanced and nutritious meals.

Physically, the job requires standing, walking, and occasionally kneeling or squatting, with an environment that may sometimes be warm due to working near ovens and stoves or cold near freezers. Ability to meet attendance requirements and communicate effectively in English is essential. The person must also possess the ability to taste, smell, and cook food proficiently.

This establishment values equal opportunity employment, welcoming veterans and individuals with disabilities to apply, fostering an inclusive work culture. Employee benefits include a Christmas remembrance program, retirement savings plan, voluntary life insurance, supplemental insurance options through AFLAC, paid time off, and worker's compensation insurance, demonstrating a commitment to employee welfare and security.
