Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of previous high volume culinary experience preferred
- Ability to work a part-time schedule with open availability preferred
- Must be able to perform essential functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to abide by all company policies and safety procedures including use of protective gloves, mitts and footwear
- Ability to maintain clean and safe kitchen environment
- Must be able to work rotating weekends
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Approximately 5 years of culinary experience in a high volume foodservice setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards including HACCP
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion controls
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Experience working in a healthcare environment is a plus
- Commitment to maintaining safety and hygiene standards
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery ensuring correct portioning and temperature
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and ensures proper food storage
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting
- Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
- Reports maintenance needs or accidents to supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Commits personally to safety of self and others
- Abides by company policies including use of cut gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
