This position is for a part-time Cook at Northern Nevada Medical Center, offering full benefits along with a convenient evening shift schedule. The Cook reports directly to the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, playing a vital role in the Food & Nutrition department. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors following established recipes and standards. This role demands a combination of culinary skills and an understanding of dietary requirements typical in a hospital setting. The Cook is also expected to perform various patient food service duties as well as dish duties as needed, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the food service department. Working in a healthcare environment, the Cook must maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, typically aligning with certifications such as ServSafe or similar. - One to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- ServSafe Certification preferred within 6 months of hire
