This position is vital for ensuring that meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and in accordance with health regulations, including HIPAA and safety requirements. A typical day will involve demonstrating proficiency in basic and advanced cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and carving meats, fish, and poultry. The Cook will also coordinate the timely distribution of meals to ensure smooth food service operations.
Attention to detail, the ability to organize workflow smartly, and a commitment to maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment are critical components of the role. The Cook must adhere strictly to food safety protocols, proper handling and storage of ingredients, and the correct use of kitchen equipment to guarantee the quality and flavor of prepared dishes. Prior commercial or institutional cooking experience is highly preferred, alongside a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of cooking measurements and procedures is essential, as is familiarity with HIPAA regulations and occupational safety standards relevant to the position.

Job Duties
- Prepares, washes, trims, and seasons food items for each meal
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes
- Uses kitchen utensils and equipment like blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers proficiently
- Cooks a variety of foods following standardized recipes and preparation methods
- Adjusts heat controls and timers on ovens, grills, etc., to ensure proper cooking
- Coordinates distribution of food to serving units at specified times
- Maintains a sanitary and safe work area consistently
