Job Description
Arden Courts is a specialized residential care facility dedicated to providing exceptional support and care services to elderly residents, including those with dementia and other memory-related conditions. Known for its compassionate and professional approach, Arden Courts operates as a leader in senior living and memory care, focusing on creating a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for all residents. Their commitment to quality care extends to all aspects of service delivery, including culinary services, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals tailored to their dietary needs.
The role of Cook at Arden Courts is integral to maintaining the high standards of food service within the facility. This position involves preparing a variety of meals that promote health and wellness among residents while also assisting the Culinary Services Coordinator in managing daily food service functions. A Cook in this environment not only handles meal preparation but also contributes to the overall atmosphere by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and a positive dining experience. The position demands tact, sensitivity, and professionalism to meet the unique needs of elderly residents, particularly those with cognitive impairments such as dementia.
This job offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus as an incentive for qualified candidates, along with a host of amazing benefits designed to support and reward their staff, including daily access to pay through ZayZoon, uniforms, employee discounts, appreciation events, an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, premium pay for holidays worked, and more. The role may be part-time or full-time, providing flexibility along with competitive compensation.
The Cook must have previous experience in food preparation, ideally within settings that involve elderly or dementia-affected populations. The ability to maintain food safety standards is critical, requiring a Food Service Sanitation certificate compliant with state or local regulations. Physically, the role requires the ability to withstand extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds, reflecting the physical demands typical of culinary positions in healthcare settings.
At Arden Courts, equal employment opportunity is a fundamental value. The employer ensures consideration for candidates without discrimination based on any legally protected status and actively provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities according to ADAAA guidelines. Working at Arden Courts means being part of a supportive, equal-opportunity environment dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through quality care and compassionate service.
