As a Cook at Arden Courts, you will play a vital role in the culinary team by preparing appetizing and nutritious meals tailored specifically for the residents' dietary requirements and preferences. This role involves assisting the Culinary Services Coordinator in managing various food service functions to maintain smooth operations within the kitchen and dining areas. The position demands a high level of professionalism, tact, and sensitivity to provide exceptional dining experiences for elderly residents, including those with dementia. The Cook is responsible not only for food preparation but also for contributing to a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, which is crucial in a healthcare setting. The role requires proficiency in basic reading and writing skills, the ability to communicate effectively in English, and adherence to food safety standards through certification in Food Service Sanitation according to state and local requirements. Physical stamina is essential, as the job entails prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and squatting, as well as lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
