Athletes in Action is a dynamic sports ministry operating under the organization Crusaders for Christ, commonly known as Cru. Our primary mission is to see Christ followers on every team in every sport in every nation. Situated on a sprawling 250-acre athletic complex in Xenia, Ohio, we serve as a vibrant hub for local, regional, and international sporting events, camps, meetings, and banquets. We provide a welcoming and faith-centered environment where sports and spiritual growth are seamlessly integrated to nurture athletes, coaches, and their families alike.

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Prep/Line Cook to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis at our Sports Complex and Retreat Center (SCRC). This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced culinary environment and are passionate about contributing to a team-oriented mission. The position offers a starting pay of $14 per hour and requires onsite attendance in Xenia, Ohio. The Prep/Line Cook will be responsible for a range of kitchen duties including food preparation, cooking, setup, service support for banquets, and cleanup, while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards.

As a Prep/Line Cook at Athletes in Action, you will be a crucial part of our culinary operations, ensuring that all meals are prepared according to our high standards and production guidelines. You will work closely with the kitchen team, including the Executive Chef, to help manage food supplies and maintain an efficient kitchen environment. Your role will involve measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, peeling, and cooking various food items, consistently producing dishes that meet our quality standards. Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers will be part of your daily responsibilities.

Beyond the culinary tasks, this role includes assisting with the service of events held at our banquet center, supporting smooth and successful sports events and gatherings. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of related experience in a restaurant or catering kitchen, though we are open to training passionate individuals new to the field. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and the ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, and uphold our mission-driven values is essential.
