Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Serv Safe Certified
  • 3-5 years lead experience in institutional cooking or food preparation
  • Ability to follow recipes and production sheets
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to food handling and safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Review menus on a daily basis
  • Prepare all items on the menu in accordance with standard recipe cards and amounts listed on production sheet
  • Ensure food is on serving line 15 minutes prior to serving time
  • Bake all cakes, biscuits, cobblers, etc. in accordance with the production sheet
  • Record amount of food prepared and amount left over on daily production sheet
  • Complete all other daily production needs including waste log, in/out leftover refrigeration log, recipe audits, and taste temperature log
  • Prepare food for employees' cafeteria when assigned
  • Help serve food at mealtimes when necessary
  • Prepare food for special functions when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
  • Follow all sanitation and food handling requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
