We are currently seeking a part-time Cook to join our team at the SC Irvine Gateway location in Santa Clara, CA. This position is ideal for individuals with culinary experience who are passionate about food safety and quality preparation. The role operates Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, providing a fixed hourly pay rate of $30.00. As a Cook, you will be integral to preparing high-quality food items that meet federal, state, and corporate standards. Your ability to produce dishes that are not only delicious but also adhere to rigorous safety and quality assurance guidelines will contribute directly to our clients' satisfaction and our brand’s reputation.

The Cook role involves significant responsibility for maintaining meticulous standards of cleanliness and food handling, ensuring all meals served meet presentation, portion control, and temperature guidelines. You will be handling all phases of food preparation, from cooking and portioning to storing and cleaning. The position requires collaboration with team members to plan production, assist with inventory and ordering, and report any equipment issues promptly to maintain a seamless operation.

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
  • Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • Follows HACCP standards
