This unique ownership structure not only fosters a collaborative and supportive workplace culture but also offers employees a stake in the company’s success through profit sharing, reflecting the organization's dedication to its team members' long-term financial growth and job satisfaction.
Wallick’s mission to open doors to homes, opportunity, and hope is at the heart of everything they do. Their approach goes beyond traditional care, focusing on creating meaningful activities, providing delicious meals, and offering round-the-clock support that enhances the quality of life for every resident. This commitment has created a familial atmosphere among residents and staff alike, with touching stories such as a resident celebrating her 105th birthday and others finding a new sense of family within the community.
The company prioritizes work-life balance for its employees, offering an exceptional benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance effective within two weeks of employment, paid time off including paid parental leave, gym membership reimbursements, and a 401(k) plan. Additionally, Wallick provides opportunities for career growth with tuition reimbursement, professional development, training, and advancement pathways. This position is a part-time role, paying $16 per hour, ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact while enjoying flexible hours.
The role of the Cook at The Crescent at Oakleaf Village is integral to Wallick’s senior living experience. This position is responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared and served with high standards of quality, safety, and presentation, directly contributing to the comfort and enjoyment of residents. The Cook plays a vital part in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, especially of large equipment, and planning cooking schedules to have food ready at serving time. Routine temperature checks and taste tests are essential for upholding the quality of menu items throughout preparation and service areas. Portion control is maintained to ensure consistency and minimize waste, while leftover perishables are carefully managed to make efficient use of resources.
This role requires an individual who can communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, and family members, addressing any inquiries or complaints with professionalism and empathy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic math skills are necessary to handle record-keeping and routine department decisions with minimal supervision. The Cook must also have experience in either institutional or restaurant settings, typically one to two years, to excel in this culinary environment.
Working at Wallick means joining a team that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, creating a welcoming and respectful space for all associates. The culture encourages bringing your authentic self to work in a safe and inclusive environment. As an employee-owner, you will play a key role in supporting residents and shaping their quality of life while benefiting from a meaningful career and a shared financial future. This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all involved.
