Currently, we are looking for a Cook to join our team at The Blake at Lafayette, a premier senior living community within the QSL Management portfolio. The role of the Cook is essential in delivering high-quality culinary experiences tailored to the needs and preferences of our senior residents. This position involves preparing, planning, and cooking meals according to established menus while ensuring food quality and service standards are consistently met or exceeded.
The ideal candidate for this position is not only passionate about culinary arts but also demonstrates a commitment to excellence, teamwork, safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment. Working in a senior living setting requires additional sensitivity and adaptability, especially when preparing therapeutic or modified diets that cater to various health requirements. As a Cook at The Blake at Lafayette, you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for seniors by creating appetizing, nutritious meals that promote their health and well-being.
This position demands flexibility, as it includes working various shifts, including holidays and weekends. Candidates should possess good knife skills, be familiar with all cooking methods, and bring self-motivation and creativity to their culinary duties. A background in culinary education, whether through trade school or an associate or bachelor's degree, is preferred but not required if compensated by relevant experience. - At least two years of related culinary experience
- Good knife skills and knowledge of all cooking methods
- Experience with therapeutic or modified diets preferred

Job Duties
- Prep, plan and cook meals according to established menus

- Maintain or exceed standards of a kitchen environment that promotes teamwork, safety, proper hygiene and cleanliness
- Stock supplies as needed
- Willingness to work in a senior living environment and prepare food which meets or exceeds hospitality and service standards
