The role requires at least one year of cooking experience and focuses on preparing food items that meet strict federal, state, and corporate guidelines. As a culinary team member at CSG, you will be responsible for ensuring that all meals served are attractive, tasty, and served at the correct temperature. In addition to culinary duties, this role also expects compliance with company policies such as using medium-weight cut gloves when handling knives or other sharp tools, wearing proper protective gloves when managing hot pans, and using slip-resistant shoes along with proper lifting techniques to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment. The culinary team member will also participate in in-service and safety meetings, contribute to planning and record keeping as needed, and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
- serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring food is at the correct temperature and visually appealing
- tastes all prepared food items to ensure quality
- uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- cleans kitchen after preparation and serving maintaining high cleanliness standards
- stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
- keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
- operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting
- assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
- reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents immediately
- attends in-service and safety meetings
- maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- abides by all company safety policies including the use of cut gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
- performs other duties as assigned
