About the Cook Role We are currently seeking a diligent Cook to join our passionate team of professionals. This role is integral to ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals that meet the unique dietary needs and preferences of our residents. The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food items with attention to quality, safety, and presentation standards. Working closely with the Food Service Director, this person will handle ordering, receiving, and rotating stock to maintain freshness and efficiency.

The Cook position requires a strong commitment to food safety, sanitation, and customer service, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents. The Cook will prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, adapting to special dietary requirements and resident preferences, embracing new food preparation techniques, and supporting the overall dining experience. The role demands flexibility, teamwork, punctuality, reliability, and the capability to work independently when needed.

Job Requirements

  • minimum of one year of cooking experience including some short order and quantity cooking
  • must possess Serv-Safe certification or be willing to obtain upon hire
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • knowledge of special dietary needs of residents and required meal preparation techniques
  • ability to work effectively with a team
  • willingness to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation
  • ability to follow all food and equipment safety procedures
  • must be dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • ensure efficient, timely, and friendly service to all residents and staff
  • maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures and high quality food preparation and presentation
  • order, receive, and rotate stock in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • read and follow recipes to ensure consistency of the product
  • prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned
  • assist with meeting or exceeding resident dining expectations
  • adhere to all food safety and equipment safety procedures
