We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our dietary team on a part-time basis. This role is integral to maintaining the health and satisfaction of our residents through the preparation of nutritious and tasty meals. The position offers a competitive pay range of $17.58 to $17.80 per hour depending on experience. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals according to planned menus, nutritional guidelines, and regulatory standards. This involves cooking large quantities of food, following precise portion controls, and accommodating special dietary needs including texture-modified and therapeutic diets.
In this role, safety and sanitation are paramount. The Cook will ensure that all food is prepared in a clean and safe environment, strictly adhering to food safety regulations. The position also involves assisting with meal service to guarantee food is presented attractively and meets the residents' expectations.
Additionally, the Cook will support the dietary team by helping with inventory management, cleaning cooking areas and equipment, and supervising other dietary staff members in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Collaboration with other departments is essential to support overall resident care and maintain seamless operations within the facility.
This position requires physical stamina as the Cook needs to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift. Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred, and a ServSafe certification is required or must be obtained upon hire.
