Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. Over the years, it has grown to become the largest American Chinese restaurant chain with close to 2,800 locations globally. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences that are deeply rooted in family values and community outreach. With a commitment to fostering an environment where people are inspired to better their lives both professionally and personally, Panda Restaurant Group emphasizes the importance of its team members as the heart and soul of the company. Their restaurants serve as vibrant centers that bring people together through food, service, and community engagement, creating an atmosphere where every guest feels welcomed and valued.

Joining Panda as a Cook means embracing a critical leadership role within the kitchen team. As a foundational role in a fast-paced and growth-driven environment, the Cook is responsible for preparing dishes with passion, adhering strictly to company recipes and quality standards to ensure that every meal reflects Panda's commitment to excellence. The position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to creating a welcoming ambiance for guests, supporting team members by guiding and assisting in their training, and ensuring all back-of-house duties are performed efficiently. This role demands a combination of culinary skill, dedication to food safety, quick adaptability, and the ability to thrive under pressure, all while maintaining high standards of accuracy and hygiene. Panda values its Cooks not just as food preparers but as leaders who help drive the success of the kitchen and the satisfaction of the guests.

Panda offers a competitive wage ranging from $23.5 to $26.5 per hour, with pay rates determined by factors such as experience and location. The employment entails working in a dynamic and sometimes physically demanding environment where employees must be prepared to stand for extended periods, handle kitchen equipment safely, and lift up to 50 pounds. Beyond the day-to-day duties, the company provides robust benefits that include flexible schedules, free meals during shifts, comprehensive health insurance, dental and vision plans, voluntary disability and cancer income protection insurance, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, a 401K plan with company match, paid vacation, sick leave, bereavement leave, and more. There are also opportunities for paid hands-on training and ongoing career development, with pathways to move into management roles. Panda is committed to equal employment opportunities and workplace accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
