Job Description
Sky View Observatory is a premier tourist attraction located on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center in Seattle, WA. Designed and operated by Legends, a company known for creating innovative and high-quality guest experiences, Sky View Observatory offers visitors breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views including iconic sights such as Mt. Rainier and Bellevue. As part of one of Legends' fastest-growing business verticals, the observatory delivers an exceptional blend of entertainment, architecture, and stunning vistas, setting a new standard for observational experiences in the region.
Legends' reputation for excellence ensures that Sky View Observatory maintains high standards for guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and innovation. The observatory provides a dynamic and welcoming environment for both visitors and employees, making it an exciting place to work within the hospitality and service industry.
The Cook role at Sky View Observatory is integral to delivering the kind of high-quality, memorable food experience that complements the observatory's stunning views. This position requires a dedicated culinary professional responsible for food preparation, execution, and ensuring safe handling of all food items before they reach the customer-facing staff. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Cook must maintain professionalism, uphold strict health and safety standards, and demonstrate strong collaboration skills with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
The Cook's responsibilities encompass a wide variety of kitchen duties including following opening and closing procedures, adhering to daily prep lists and timelines, and preparing food according to standardized recipes with attention to safety and sanitation. Maintaining cleanliness and organization across all kitchen areas is critical, as is a thorough knowledge of the menu, including specials and accommodating dietary considerations. The Cook also helps monitor inventory, conducts weekly counts, and assists in recommending items to order, thereby supporting operational efficiency.
Ideal candidates bring 2 to 4 years of experience working in high-volume food service settings such as restaurants or catering environments. They hold a high school diploma or GED, with culinary degrees or certifications being preferred. The role demands a proactive, organized mindset, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Physical stamina is also essential as the position involves standing for extended periods and handling loads up to 30 pounds.
This full-time, on-site position at the Sky View Observatory in Seattle offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.00. With a focus on teamwork, adaptability, and maintaining the highest standards for food safety and sanitation, this is an outstanding opportunity for culinary professionals seeking an engaging and fast-paced role with an industry-leading company. Legends Global values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer committed to creating an inclusive workforce, encouraging applications from Women, Minorities, Individuals with Disabilities, and protected Veterans.
