The Performance Dining Cook position at Oak View Group plays a crucial role within the culinary team, especially within their Performance Dining Program and premium game-day catering services. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring the preparation of various menu items using different cooking equipment while assuring the highest standards of taste, presentation, and food safety are consistently met. The cook is expected to handle multiple responsibilities such as strict portion control, minimizing food waste, and maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, all essential to ensure guests receive exceptional meals. Job Requirements

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment such as broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
  • Valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills with employees, management, and guests
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to follow company recipes and portioning guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience required
  • Performance dining experience is a plus
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment, including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe preferred

Job Duties

  • Responsible for providing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product
  • Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
  • Portioning, arranging, and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
  • Consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
