As a Senior Living Cook at Heritage Senior Living, you will play a critical role in supporting the health and happiness of our residents through the preparation and serving of nutritious and delicious meals. This position is best suited for individuals with a compassionate attitude, strong customer service skills, and a thorough understanding of sanitation and infection control standards. The role involves adhering strictly to menus and recipes provided by the executive chef while catering to the unique dietary needs of each resident. You'll be invited to collaborate closely within a professional kitchen environment, taking direction from the executive and sous chefs to ensure the highest quality of food preparation, plating, and presentation.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • High school diploma, GED, or 1-3 months related experience or training preferred
  • Must submit and pass all applicable pre-employment and annual tests and meet all training and other applicable state and federal guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, culinary arts, or hospitality preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of sanitation and infection control practices
  • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with others

Job Duties

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff
  • Adhere to menus and recipes, special dietary needs, correct portioning of food, food presentation, and proper serving methods as instructed by the executive chef
  • Attend to residents' individual dietary needs when taking and delivering food orders from residents and their guests
  • Maintain comfort, privacy, and dignity of our residents
  • Work under the supervision of and take instruction from the executive chef and sous chef
