Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group is a renowned hospitality company known for delivering exceptional dining experiences across various settings including sports, entertainment, and cultural venues. With a strong commitment to quality, teamwork, and innovation, Patina Restaurant Group operates in multiple locations and is recognized for its dedication to customer service excellence and culinary artistry. This prestigious group is currently hiring cooks to join their team specifically for the highly anticipated PGA Championships, an event that gathers some of the world's top golf professionals and avid fans.
This particular role as a cook is a temporary, event-based position but critical to the successful operation of the food service during this major sporting event. The employment type requires candidates who can commit to a demanding schedule spanning seven consecutive days, with various shift timings starting as early as 5:30 AM and ending around 5:30 PM. The role offers a unique opportunity for culinary professionals and food service workers to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, while also offering a bonus incentive for those who complete all seven days without tardiness or absence.
As a cook with Patina Restaurant Group at the PGA Championships, the candidate will be responsible for preparing food accurately according to specifications before and during the event, ensuring all menu items meet high-quality standards. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in using various kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens safely and efficiently. Attention to detail is critical, as is adherence to portion control, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and overall kitchen organization.
This role demands physical stamina and dexterity since it involves standing and walking for prolonged periods, lifting heavy pans up to 50 pounds, and working in an environment that can be hot, damp, and noisy. The kitchen environment requires the cook to maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coolers and all kitchen tools, throughout their shifts. Additionally, cooks are expected to manage waste responsibly and assist with inventory processes during opening and closing procedures.
Working in this event-driven role also means collaboration and communication are essential. Cooks must work harmoniously with the team to uphold service excellence and contribute to a memorable experience for guests, showcasing culinary skill and professionalism. The successful applicant must be available to work the full schedule for all seven days of the PGA Championships, including weekends. The position also encourages the development of culinary skills and knowledge in a team-oriented environment, ideal for those passionate about foodservice and hospitality.
In summary, joining Delaware North’s Patina Restaurant Group as a cook for the PGA Championships is a chance to be part of a prestigious event with a supportive and dynamic team. This role is suited for individuals with prior kitchen experience, strong work ethic, and dedication to quality and service, ready to handle a rigorous schedule and demanding physical work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
