Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids
  • Ability to lift and carry large pans weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to handle and operate all kitchen equipment safely
  • Standing and walking for entire length of shift
  • Ability to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bend, and squat frequently
  • Ability to push and pull equipment such as mops and brooms
  • Willingness to work in hot, damp, and noisy kitchen environments
  • Availability for the full seven-day schedule as outlined

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 months previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position required
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills including ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
  • Ability to work full schedule during the event
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to specifications before and during the event
  • Properly measure and portion all food items
  • Utilize kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens
  • Ensure proper food temperatures and storage
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation, coolers, and equipment
  • Follow health codes and sanitation regulations
  • Use waste control guidelines and record waste on spoilage sheets
  • Complete end of day inventory and other opening/closing duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
