Job Description
Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group is a distinguished leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to culinary excellence and exceptional guest experiences. With a rich history of managing premier foodservice operations at some of the world's most prestigious venues and events, Patina Restaurant Group blends innovation, high standards, and a passion for food to create memorable dining experiences. As part of Delaware North, one of the largest and most respected hospitality service providers globally, Patina combines its culinary ingenuity with the resources and support of a global leader. This ensures a dynamic, professional, and rewarding workplace for its team members.
Currently, Patina Restaurant Group is seeking dedicated and experienced Cooks to join the team for the upcoming PGA Championships, a marquee event that demands precision, teamwork, and culinary skill. This role is a fantastic opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in a fast-paced and high-standard event environment. The position requires working a specific and intensive schedule spread over seven days, with various shifts starting early in the morning and running through the day. This schedule is essential for the smooth operation of food preparation and delivery throughout the event. Moreover, a bonus incentive is offered for those who can successfully complete all seven days of work without tardiness or absenteeism, highlighting the importance of reliability and dedication.
The Cook role at the PGA Championships is not just about preparing food; it is about contributing to an extraordinary guest experience by ensuring every dish meets exact specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate must have at least six months of prior back-of-the-house foodservice experience and demonstrate the ability to follow prep sheets, recipes, and portion controls meticulously. Basic math skills to understand and calculate recipe proportions are also critical. Physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to work safely with various kitchen equipment, including knives, ovens, grills, steamers, and slicers, are necessary to thrive in this role.
Cooks will be responsible for prep work before and during the event, maintaining cleanliness and organization in their workstation, monitoring food temperatures and storage conditions, adhering to health codes and sanitation regulations, and controlling waste. End-of-day inventory tasks and other opening or closing duties as assigned will be part of the daily routine. The work environment includes exposure to heat, noise, and the demands of standing and moving for extended periods, so physical endurance is essential.
This position offers a chance to work in a collaborative, high-energy team setting where excellence in service and a strong commitment to learning are valued. Those who succeed will enhance not only their culinary skills but also their experience in working at large-scale, high-profile events. The opportunity to be part of Delaware North's Patina Restaurant Group during the PGA Championships promises an enriching career experience in one of the most exciting culinary environments in the hospitality industry.
