The company is currently seeking experienced Cooks to join the team for the highly anticipated PGA Championships event. This is a temporary event-based position requiring individuals who are dedicated, reliable, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment. The schedule for this role is demanding, spanning seven consecutive days with early morning and long shifts, reflecting the intensity and importance of catering to a major sporting event. Successful candidates should be prepared to work every day from Sunday, May 10 through Sunday, May 17, with shift times ranging from early morning to late afternoon. Punctuality and full attendance are vital as those who complete the entire schedule without lateness or absence are eligible for a bonus.

As a Cook for this event, your role will be essential in ensuring all food preparation meets exact standards and contributes to a seamless guest dining experience. You'll be responsible for preparing food to specifications before and during the event, measuring and portioning ingredients precisely, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. Your expertise in using kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, grills, ovens, steamers, and warmers will ensure that all menu items are prepared efficiently and correctly.

Maintaining cleanliness and organization at your workstation, coolers, and equipment is crucial to support smooth kitchen operations and comply with health and sanitation regulations. You'll be expected to monitor food temperatures, ensure proper storage, and track waste through spoilage sheets to minimize food loss. Completing inventory tasks and other opening and closing duties according to established checklists will also be part of your responsibilities.

The role demands physical stamina and manual dexterity, including the ability to lift heavy pans up to 50 pounds, stand and walk throughout your shifts, and handle kitchen equipment safely. Working in a hot, noisy, and sometimes damp environment is expected. Job Requirements

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc a variety of foods and liquids
  • Ability to lift and carry large pans, weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to handle and/or operate all kitchen equipment in a safe manner
  • Standing and walking for entire length of shift
  • Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
  • Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms
  • Kitchen environment - noise levels may be moderate-to-high
  • Works frequently in a hot and damp environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 months previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position required
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
  • Available leading up to and during the event

Job Duties

  • Cook food items according to recipes and food production standards
  • Ensure food is safely prepared and at the proper temperature for consumption
  • Keep cooking station clean and orderly during shift
  • Comply with all sanitation and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment
  • Safely use and operate cooking appliances and utensils
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service for guests as needed
  • Assist in ordering and receiving food products for the kitchen as needed
