Currently, Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for on-call Cook positions at the Alaska Medical location at 3200 Providence Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. This role involves preparing food in compliance with federal, state, and corporate standards to ensure quality food service is consistently provided. The on-call schedule offers variability in days and hours, accommodating flexibility, with pay ranging from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with at least one year of cooking experience who are passionate about making a difference through the nourishment they provide. The Cook position requires preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes, ensuring proper portioning, maintaining food temperatures, and presenting food attractively and tastily. Responsibilities extend to kitchen cleanliness, food storage, equipment operation, and adherence to safety and sanitation regulations. Candidates will have the chance to contribute to production planning, inventory management, and record keeping.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year cooking experience
- Ability to work on an on-call schedule with varying days and hours
- Ability to comply with federal, state and corporate food safety regulations
- Ability to safely handle kitchen equipment and maintain a clean work environment
- Ability to adhere to company policies including safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to participate in safety meetings and training
- Eligibility to work in the United States

Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Tastes all prepared food items
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Responsible for records from area worked during service periods
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
