We are recruiting for a Cook position within this retail store setting. The Cook will be responsible for efficiently managing orders, carefully preparing food items, and simultaneously handling multiple customer requests with professionalism and speed. The position requires cross-training across various store functions such as inventory management, cash transactions, and cleaning duties. Employees must be familiar with food safety regulations, proper use of kitchen equipment, and inventory control procedures including first-in, first-out rotation methods.

In addition to cooking duties, the Cook will engage directly with customers by answering questions and addressing complaints in a positive manner, contributing to a pleasant customer experience. The role emphasizes accuracy in order processing and transaction handling, including cash, credit, coupons, and discounts. Maintaining a safe and secure work environment, especially when dealing with money, is essential.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift moderately heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform movements such as bending and kneeling during the work shift. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • three months of cashier or customer service experience preferred
  • must be able to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
  • must be able to stand for long periods
  • ability to bend, kneel, climb, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle tools and controls
  • ability to meet legal age requirements for tobacco and alcohol sales
  • ability to follow company policies and state laws regarding alcohol and tobacco sales
  • must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests
  • must pass a criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or ged
  • three months of cashier or customer service experience preferred
  • proficiency in math for cash or card transaction issues
  • skills in promoting and selling products
  • ability to handle multiple customer orders simultaneously in a friendly and professional manner
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests
  • must pass an extensive criminal background check
  • proficiency in using POS, handheld scanners, and other electronic equipment
  • valid washington state driver’s license
  • ability to complete responsible liquor sales class within 90 days if applicable
  • ability to obtain food handlers permit within 90 days

Job Duties

  • ensure efficient and friendly service to all store patrons at all times
  • apply proper phone etiquette when receiving call-in orders and write out orders to be processed accurately and quickly
  • cook items for each customer accurately while preparing multiple orders simultaneously
  • answer customer questions and resolve complaints positively
  • ensure efficient and accurately prepared food while minimizing product waste
  • ensure proper cleaning of kitchen equipment on every shift
  • ensure inventory is ordered, stored, stocked, displayed, rotated, and counted accurately
  • process transactions including cash, credit, coupons, discounts, and refunds
  • balance till and receipts for every shift and maintain a safe work environment for cash handling
  • start and end shift according to policy
  • stock shelves and face products using First-in, First-Out rotation
  • conduct inventory cycle counts and handle deliveries
  • clean and sanitize store interior and exterior including restrooms
  • participate in ongoing training
  • maintain confidentiality
  • perform other duties as assigned
