Job Requirements
- Eligibility to serve in the United States Navy
- high school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions
- meet age limits set by law and Navy policy
- meet medical, vision, and dental standards
- meet character and conduct standards
- achieve required test scores for program entry
- eligibility for a security clearance
- team orientation with good communication and customer service skills
- solid arithmetic and record keeping ability
- interest in culinary arts, nutrition, and food safety
- attention to detail
- ability to meet Navy enlistment standards
- ability to work safely in hot and fast paced galley environments
Job Qualifications
- Meet general enlistment or commissioning standards
- eligible to serve in the United States Navy
- possess a high school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions
- meet age limits set by Navy policy
- meet medical, vision, and dental standards including physical fitness
- meet character and conduct standards with background screening
- achieve required test scores such as the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
- eligible for security clearance when required
- demonstrate team orientation and good communication skills
- possess solid arithmetic and record keeping for inventory and financial management
- have interest in culinary arts, nutrition, and food safety
- attention to detail in following recipes, portioning, and sanitation procedures
- ability to work safely in fast-paced galley environments
Job Duties
- Plan menus and order subsistence
- prepare and serve meals in galleys, mess decks, and wardrooms
- manage storerooms, inventories, and financial records
- operate and maintain kitchen and dining spaces
- lead food production teams and supervise sanitation and food safety
- support executive dining services and protocol events
- perform in flight food service duties when assigned
