The role of the Cook at Catholic Charities is vital to the daily operations and success of the food service programs aimed at supporting vulnerable populations. The Cook is responsible for overseeing meal preparations, ensuring that food service is efficient, economical, and nutritious. This includes managing food donations, overseeing storage logistics, and maintaining the highest standards of meal quality. Attention to kitchen sanitation, safety regulations, and inventory control are paramount in this position. Furthermore, the Cook manages volunteer teams, coordinates meal preparation and serving times, and contributes to training volunteers to ensure smooth kitchen operations. This role requires creativity and innovation to continuously improve program development and service delivery, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- and/or one year related experience and/or training
- or equivalent combination of education and experience
- valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
Job Qualifications
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
- knowledge of basic nutrition, common recipes and cooking methods for large groups
- ability to respond to emergency and crisis situations per agency procedures
- must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver’s license
- knowledge of service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with agency staff and a diverse client base
Job Duties
- Oversee meal preparation
