In this role, you will be responsible for setting up your workstation, preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, and chopping, and using various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare meats, vegetables, and other foods. The ability to operate kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers safely and efficiently is essential. You will also be tasked with garnishing and portioning dishes, ensuring proper food storage in compliance with safety policies, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in your work area.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods and food safety regulations
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Exhibit good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment
  • Commitment to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
