  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two to three years of experience in cooking in a long-term health care setting
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook daily menu items according to recipes and schedules
  • Complete prep work for the next day to keep service running efficiently
  • Take and record food temperatures to meet safety standards
  • Taste-test meals to ensure quality
  • Serve meals with a friendly, customer-focused attitude
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace at all times
  • Report concerns about residents' meal intake
  • Dispose of trash and linens according to facility procedures
