The role requires setting up your workstation efficiently, preparing ingredients through measuring, chopping, mixing, and other culinary techniques, and operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.

Beyond technical cooking skills, this role emphasizes the importance of food safety and sanitation. Following Aramark’s established safety policies, including accurate food handling and proper storage, ensures the health and well-being of customers and staff alike. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of your work area, utensils, and equipment. Customer service is an integral part of the job, and maintaining a positive attitude towards guests, coworkers, and clients is essential.

Physical requirements of this role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Employees may also be required to wear uniforms and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to meet safety standards. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills in written and verbal form
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull as needed
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
