Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Basic math skills
- Minimum of six months related experience preferred
- Willingness to obtain ServSafe certification if required
- Ability to complete annual continuing education and mandatory in-services
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk extensively
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Valid Driver's License if required by location
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Basic math skills for ingredient measurement
- Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred
- ServSafe certification may be required
- Ability to complete departmental continuing education and in-services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on location
Job Duties
- Prepare and assemble baked goods and meals for patients, residents, staff, and visitors
- Cook, season, and portion food according to menu and dietary guidelines
- Adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
- Perform washing and cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
- Maintain proper labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
- Follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines to ensure food safety
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, stovetops, grills, and deep fryers
- Document HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes for food safety compliance
- Work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic kitchen environment
