Job Requirements
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university in food service administration, dietetic technology, nutrition restaurant management or a related food service field
- or graduation from high school, GED or equivalency diploma and two years of full time experience in an industrial or school cafeteria, hospitals, restaurants, hotels and/or other similar operations other than fast food or short order, involving large quantity food service
- or an equivalent combination as defined within limits of education and experience

Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks food and manages a school food service program at their respective schools
- plans menus to meet pupil nutritive requirements
- requisitions foods and supplies
- oversees the preparation and serving of food
- directs the storage and care of foods and supplies
- supervises the cleaning of the kitchen, serving, storage and dining areas and the care of equipment
- plans the work schedules of employees
- assists in the selection and arrangement of kitchen equipment
- maintains employee time records
- maintains simple records of food and supplies received and used
- prepares and submits reports on activities of the cafeteria
- performs related work as required
