Job Description
MadTree Brewing, founded in 2013, is an award-winning brewery rooted in Cincinnati with a strong commitment to sustainability and community impact. As a certified B-Corp and member of 1% for the Planet, MadTree dedicates itself to reducing environmental impact and donating 1% of its sales to local sustainable nonprofits. This company is driven not just by crafting great beers but by building a business that aligns with social and environmental values. MadTree aims to create warm and welcoming experiences that exceed customer expectations while fostering a better community. With a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the company inspires its workforce to embody its mission and values, creating a culture of purpose, unity, and genuine care.
MadTree Parks & Rec, opened in early 2025, is an innovative 15,000 square-foot space housed in a historic airplane hangar located in Summit Park, Blue Ash. It seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor environments with features like a massive living wall, ample green space, and recreational activities suitable for all ages. This venue offers a unique gathering place centered on sustainability and community, pairing award-winning craft beers and delicious food in a setting designed to connect people with nature and each other. The experience at Parks & Rec is about more than just dining and drinking—it's about building connections and contributing to a better community through purpose-driven hospitality.
The role of Cook at MadTree Parks & Rec is a critical component of their culinary team, focused on crafting memorable food experiences that delight guests and meet high standards of quality and efficiency. This part-time, hourly position pays between $16 and $18 per hour based on experience and reports to the Kitchen Manager. As a cook, you will prepare a variety of menu items such as pizzas, nachos, sandwiches, and salads in a fast-paced but collaborative environment. You will operate and maintain kitchen equipment like pizza ovens, conveyor ovens, flattop grills, fryers, and food processors, while also handling specialized tools such as pizza peels and dough dockers. Maintaining consistency in food taste and presentation, following recipes and portion controls, and ensuring food safety and sanitation are all vital responsibilities.
This role demands passion for food, teamwork, and excellent organizational skills. The Cook actively participates in kitchen stations ranging from prep and pizza to sandwich and expo, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout service. Additional duties include cleaning and maintenance of equipment, supporting prep and kitchen projects, communicating effectively with team members, and assisting with private events serving up to 300 people. MadTree values continuous growth, providing cross-training opportunities, and encourages staff engagement with company initiatives including volunteer activities. The work environment combines the dynamic energy of a busy restaurant kitchen with MadTree's unique nature-inspired workspace designed to foster real human connections and a supportive team culture where everyone genuinely cares and contributes to the company mission. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing company with a strong community focus and commitment to doing good through food and hospitality.
