Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- three years experience in food preparation is preferred
- completion of KSDE’s food safety training within first six months of employment
- cooks working more than 20 hours per week must complete annual continuing education and training as per USDA standards
- ability to follow standardized recipes
- ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds repeatedly
- ability to work in noisy, crowded, hot, and cold environments
- ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- compliance with district, state, and federal sanitation guidelines
- regular attendance and physical presence at the job
Job Qualifications
- three years experience in food preparation is preferred
- successful completion of KSDE’s food safety training requirement within the first six months of employment
- cooks working more than 20 hours per week must complete at least 6 hours of annual continuing education and cooks working less than 20 hours per week must complete at least 4 hours of annual continuing education and training to meet USDA professional standards requirements
- desire to continue career improvement
- knowledge of the National Components of the National School Lunch Program
