Job Requirements

Some federal jobs allow education substitution for experience
must have experience in food preparation and leadership
ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
capacity to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
provide proof of eligibility
accept applicants from all preference categories
able to work full time
clear resume describing experience
education credentials if applicable

Job Qualifications

Experience leading a team of food service workers
proficiency in food preparation and cooking principles
knowledge of meal planning and recipe standardization
ability to perform yield testing
experience with food inventory and storage procedures
physical ability to meet job demands
capability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

Lead three or more workers to accomplish cooking assignments
apply knowledge of food preparation principles and characteristics of food
plan meal preparation to ensure timely completion
perform yield testing to determine portion cost and adjust ingredients in recipes
order, issue and store food following proper procedures
ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
maintain physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform prolonged standing and bending activities
