At AZ General Hospital Mesa, you are not just taking a job; you are joining a community where your work makes a direct and meaningful impact on patients’ lives and on the community's well-being.

As a Cook Lead at AZ General Hospital Mesa, you will play a vital role in the healthcare foodservice team by leading food preparation efforts that meet the specific dietary needs of patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires a strong commitment to safe cooking techniques and adherence to state and federal regulations concerning food safety in healthcare environments. You will manage and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality, proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils, and strict compliance with therapeutic diet requirements. Your leadership in this role will be critical in maintaining high standards of food appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.

In your daily tasks, you will be responsible for preparing meals that accommodate multiple therapeutic diets, modifying recipes to account for allergies, and helping to oversee food quality control measures such as recipe adherence. You will also ensure proper labeling and storage of food products and equipment to adhere to regulatory guidelines. The role demands excellent multitasking ability and operational oversight while serving as an inspirational leader who motivates the kitchen team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Your impact as Cook Lead extends beyond the kitchen, contributing significantly to patient satisfaction, health outcomes, and overall facility quality standards.

Working at AZ General Hospital Mesa means thriving in a supportive community that values the connections between healthcare, nutrition, and well-being. The Cook Lead role offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally within a healthcare setting committed to equity, innovation, and compassionate care. The position is hourly with a pay range of $21.96 to $31.01, reflecting the essential responsibilities and leadership required. This role suits individuals who are passionate about food service, eager to take on leadership responsibilities, and dedicated to making a difference in a hospital foodservice team.
