Job Description
St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a well-established healthcare facility located in The Woodlands, Texas. It is a 245-bed hospital that serves the communities of North Harris and Montgomery counties. Recognized as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, the hospital is well-known for its clinical excellence and serves as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. It has also earned prestigious safety grades, receiving an "A" rating from The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. The hospital offers a wide range of high-level clinical services including cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services such as digital mammography and bone density studies, neurosciences, pediatric care including newborn and Level III nurseries, surgery, pathology, pulmonary services, and sleep disorder treatment.\n\nWe are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. This role is vital for patient, staff, and visitor well-being, as you will prepare high-quality, safe, and delicious meals, including those that meet multiple therapeutic dietary requirements. The cook will be expected to adhere meticulously to all state and federal food preparation regulations, specifically those that apply in a healthcare setting. Every day, you will be responsible for following safe cooking techniques, executing recipes with precision, and maintaining rigorous quality control to ensure consistent food quality and compliance with dietary guidelines.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have proven experience in high-volume food preparation, a deep understanding of food safety standards, and knowledge of therapeutic diets. This work environment is fast-paced, and a commitment to culinary excellence is essential. Job Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in food services
- Food handler permit TX within 30 days or Servsafe certification within 30 days
- One year of hospital experience preferred
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Job Duties
- Champion food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation
- Prepare and serve food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements using kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops and grills
- Modify preparations to account for food allergies
- Maintain proper labeling of food products and ensure storage of food equipment and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines
- Perform washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
