The role of Food Service Cook at Lakeland Community Care Center represents a crucial position within this dedicated team. Job Requirements
- one year of experience as a line cook, prep cook or breakfast cook in a food service setting
- experience working with seniors preferred but not required
- 18 years of age or over
- must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- must be available to work split shifts including 6a-2p and 12p-8p

Job Duties
- prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste
- review food menus and work orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared and to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparation
- prep, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- assist driver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery
- portion and arrange food and distribute to waitstaff to be served
- follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- label and date all food items in accordance with food storage chart
