This luxury hotel company prides itself on fostering a workplace culture where diverse backgrounds, talents, and experiences are not only valued but celebrated. At The Ritz-Carlton, every associate is empowered to bring their best selves to work, contributing to an environment of continuous improvement and inspired service. As part of Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton maintains a strong commitment to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and inclusivity for all employees, supporting a wide range of backgrounds and experiences including those with criminal histories, consistent with applicable laws.
The Food and Beverage Cook at The Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco, California, plays a vital role in upholding the brand's legendary standards by preparing and presenting food items for banquet and buffet services with exceptional attention to detail and quality. This full-time, non-management position offers a competitive hourly wage of $37.58 and requires hands-on experience in a fast-paced culinary environment. The cook is responsible for preparing proper plate and platter presentations, operating various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and supporting banquet and buffet operations by ensuring adequate supplies and food quality throughout service periods.
The position includes a broad range of culinary duties such as carving buffet meats upon request, portioning and prepping ingredients, washing and peeling fresh produce, measuring and mixing ingredients, and preparing foods according to established recipes, presentation standards, and food safety guidelines. Attention to detail is critical as the cook must monitor the quality and cooking completion of each dish, maintain cleanliness and sanitization of kitchen areas and tools, and follow company safety and security procedures meticulously. The role demands physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to perform various lifting and bending tasks safely up to 50 pounds.
Moreover, this role aligns with The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards — foundational values such as the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values that guide associates in delivering gracious and thoughtful service every day. Employees at The Ritz-Carlton are offered an environment where they can be proud of their work and their colleagues, engage in purposeful activities, and belong to a supportive global team dedicated to luxury hospitality excellence. Joining this team means becoming part of a legacy of excellence where personal growth, professional development, and exceptional guest experiences are priorities.

This role ensures that every guest encounter with food service is not only memorable but reflective of the impeccable standards that define The Ritz-Carlton. Those who join will find a platform to grow, shine, and make a meaningful impact within the prestigious Marriott International family.
