Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a premier family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept that has grown from its origins in Glendale, California, since 1983, to become the largest Asian dining brand in the United States with close to 2,800 locations worldwide. The company’s mission centers on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences by creating an organization that inspires its people to improve their lives. At Panda, the commitment to family values, community engagement, and employee growth is central to its identity. The restaurants themselves are the heart and soul of the company, playing a crucial role in connecting customers with quality food, service, and atmosphere.
The Shift Lead role at Panda is an exciting and dynamic leadership position integral to supporting the restaurant’s mission of passion, pride, and hospitality. Shift Lead associates play an important role by assisting management in maintaining a welcoming and vibrant environment for guests. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career growth in a fast-paced and growth-oriented setting while developing essential leadership and operational skills. Shift Leads lead teams during shifts, oversee store operations, and gain hands-on experience preparing Panda’s popular menu items. Through this role, associates acquire a wide range of skills that foster their personal and professional development, including team leadership, food safety, customer service, and multitasking in high-pressure environments.
This position is well-suited for proactive individuals who enjoy working in an energetic, team-oriented atmosphere and who want to develop valuable skills while directly contributing to the success of the Panda restaurant. While performing their responsibilities, Shift Leads ensure smooth daily operations, promote safety and quality standards, and help cultivate a culture that prioritizes both employee and guest satisfaction. The work environment involves standing for extended periods, managing kitchen tools and tasks efficiently, and adapting to dynamic situations with effective communication and problem-solving.
Panda Restaurant Group is committed to equal employment opportunities and offers reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants, affirming its dedication to inclusivity and diversity. This role does not just offer employment but a chance to grow within a globally recognized, family-oriented brand that values each team member's contribution and wellbeing. Overall, the Panda Shift Lead position is a rewarding stepping stone for individuals passionate about food service operations, leadership, and career advancement within a company that values respect, hard work, and team spirit.
