Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept established in 1983 in Glendale, California. Since its inception, the company has grown significantly to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting close to 2,800 locations globally. The organization is widely recognized for its dedication to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an environment where its employees and communities are inspired to better their lives. Panda Restaurant Group is distinguished by its strong family values, commitment to quality, and the passion it brings to every meal served. This company’s key strength lies not only in its delicious Asian cuisine but also in its unwavering focus on creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for its guests, nurturing a supportive and dynamic workplace culture for its associates, and championing diversity and inclusiveness throughout its operations.

Joining Panda Restaurant Group means you become part of a passionate team that is dedicated to food with heart, service with pride, and ambiance that invites guests to return again and again. The company applauds its people as the primary ingredient in its recipe for success, understanding that employee development and a strong team spirit contribute immensely to continued growth and excellence within the fast-casual dining industry.

The Shift Leader role at Panda Restaurant Group plays a central leadership position within this expansive, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment. As a Shift Lead, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of supporting restaurant management in day-to-day operations while embodying Panda’s mission within your team. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a solid foundation of operational and managerial skills, inclusive of overseeing shift activities while maintaining high standards in food preparation and customer service. The role requires enthusiasm and dedication to creating an inviting and energetic atmosphere that meets Panda’s commitment to excellence.

As a Shift Leader, you will be pivotal in ensuring smooth store operations, from managing team dynamics to addressing customer needs efficiently and effectively. Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience in preparing Panda’s signature Asian-fusion menu items and fostering teamwork that drives a productive work environment. This role is ideal for individuals eager to grow within the hospitality and food service industry, allowing them to cultivate leadership capabilities and valuable culinary skills. The company emphasizes growth through learning and mentoring, fostering an inclusive culture where diversity is celebrated, and every associate’s contribution is valued.

Working as a Shift Lead at Panda cultivates a diverse skill set ranging from operational leadership, conflict resolution, and customer engagement to food safety and kitchen proficiency. The role demands an adaptable mindset to thrive amidst dynamic priorities and the ability to maintain a composed yet proactive approach in a high-energy restaurant setting. Employees are expected to support a space where customers feel welcomed, service is delivered with warmth, and quality food is consistently prepared according to stringent standards.

Panda Restaurant Group also prioritizes compliance with health and safety regulations, requiring Shift Leaders to ensure food safety standards are upheld while managing their teams. The physical demands of the role include working in fast-paced environments that can be hot and noisy, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting moderate weights. However, these challenges are balanced by a rewarding career path in a supportive and progressive workplace. The company also aligns with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), committing to providing reasonable accommodations to candidates and associates, thus reinforcing an equitable working environment.

Overall, this leadership opportunity at Panda Restaurant Group is designed for proactive and passionate individuals who want to grow their careers in the food service industry while being part of a company that values community, family, and continual improvement.
