Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With approximately 2,800 locations globally, Panda Restaurant Group has dedicated itself to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to its customers by fostering an environment where its team members are inspired to grow and better their lives. The company embraces family values and community impact, truly making Panda more than just a place to dine but also a supportive workplace where diversity, equality, and inclusion are fundamental principles. The group is committed to equal opportunity employment and complies with all federal, state, and local laws related to workplace accommodations and anti-discrimination practices.

The Shift Lead position at Panda Restaurant Group is a vital leadership role within the team, responsible for supporting management in carrying out Panda’s mission of creating food with passion, providing service with heart, and generating an ambiance that the entire team can take pride in. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that encourages growth and development. As a Shift Lead, you will play a central part in managing daily store operations, leading the team, and creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

This role is designed for individuals who are eager to gain valuable hands-on experience in food preparation and cooking Panda favorites while honing management and leadership skills. Shift Leaders not only contribute directly to the guest experience but also develop a wide range of interpersonal and operational skills valuable for career advancement within the hospitality and restaurant industry.

Essential responsibilities include managing store operations during shifts, ensuring food safety and quality, fostering a positive team environment, and engaging with guests to uphold Panda’s standards of hospitality. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-changing work environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Candidates must be prepared to work in a physically demanding setting, withstanding heat, hustle, and manual labor, including the ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.

Panda also emphasizes workplace safety and compliance with local food safety regulations, requiring certifications such as the Food Handler certificate, which candidates are expected to obtain at their own expense. The company strives to provide a supportive work culture that encourages learning, growth, and mutual respect among team members. As a Shift Lead, you will be positioned not only to impact daily restaurant operations but also to influence the personal development of the team members under your guidance.

Overall, this position is ideal for someone seeking a challenging but rewarding role in the restaurant industry, where leadership, teamwork, and customer service meet. Panda Restaurant Group offers a meaningful career path in an environment that values passion, dedication, and the continuous development of its people.
