The Cook III - Intern will support the culinary team by preparing banquet foods according to established recipes and production standards, which ensures consistency and excellence in every dish served. This role involves various duties including banquet prep, plating assistance, buffet setups, and event breakdowns, providing a comprehensive experience in event catering and kitchen operations. Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience in culinary roles
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Preferred experience in hospitality
- Basic skills in knife handling and sanitation
- Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift 50 pounds
- Must be capable of frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year experience in a culinary position
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
- Basic knife skills and basic understanding of kitchen sanitation
- Ability to follow recipes, direction, and outlet service standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Complete assigned banquet prep according to prep lists and production needs
- Follow recipes, batch production standards, portion guides, and plating instructions
- Assist with banquet plating, buffet setup, action station prep, and event breakdown
- Maintain clean and organized banquet production areas
- Label, date, rotate, and store food according to hotel and health standards
- Communicate prep shortages or production needs to the Chef on Duty
- Support large-scale production with urgency and accuracy
- Assist with cleaning, organization, and stewarding support after events
