This particular role is a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage and Culinary position based at the Westin Resort in Savannah. The job involves food preparation responsibilities that are vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of quality dining experiences. The role includes preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, and storing, as well as mixing and measuring ingredients in accordance with recipes and quality standards. The position requires skill in operating kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and involves cooking, testing, and ensuring food quality and presentation meet established standards.
In addition to food preparation and cooking, this role requires maintaining a clean and organized workstation, setting up and breaking down stations, and washing and disinfecting utensils, tools, and kitchen areas. Safety and security policies are a key component of the job, with the responsibility for reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management. The role demands physical stamina for extended periods of standing or walking and the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
- Weigh measure and mix ingredients
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes quality and presentation standards
- Operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
- Test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently
- Monitor food quality while preparing food
- Set-up and break down work station
- Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area tables tools knives and equipment
- Check and ensure temperature correctness of appliances and food
- Follow all company safety and security policies
- Report maintenance needs accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager
- Complete safety training and certifications
- Maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
